Harold Merle began a dream he had 45 years ago, build a quality home with a distinctive look,  thus the genesis of H.T. Merle Builders.   A well known builder of custom homes in the 60's and 70's, Ron and Scott Merle had the opportunity to learn the home building business from their Dad at an early age.  Both sons experienced first hand all aspects of home construction, from mixing mortar to applying roofing.  This ground up approach gave them a "real feel" for the total building process. This enabled them to formulate the goals and standards that would mark the future of Merle Builders.

In 1981, H.T. Merle Builders was restructured and Merle Builders Inc. was formed with Ron Merle and Scott Merle serving as President and Vice President respectively.  Fueled by a strong sense of personal pride, Merle Builders gained wide recognition and earned them two awards for "the distinctive use of wood, both interior and exterior," from the American Wood Council.  The ability to combine beauty and utility has become a distinguishing characteristic of all Merle built homes.

Today, Merle Builders is primarily focused on the move up buyer.  This segment of the market is looking for homes with strong curb appeal and distinctive features such as a front and rear stairway, three car garages, additional skylights, central vacuum, security systems and wiring for surrouind sound stereo systems.

Merle Builders takes pride in their quick response to service problems.  Since all service work is the responsibility of Ron and Scott, ninety nine percent of most problems are indentified and corrected before closing.  Many past customers have returned to Merle Builders for additions and improvements to their homes as their housing needs have changed.  These inquiries have prompted Merle Builders to establish a remodeling and additions division.  Using the same skilled personel for thier custom homes, Merle guarantees each remodel or addition customer the same level of quality and personal attention as the new home buyer.
